My skincare travel essentials

Keeping your beauty routine is such a chore when you’re on the move. You don’t have access to your usual beauty products and often it’s difficult to lug everything around, especially on a long trip. I thought I’d share a few of my essentials that help look after my skin that I use at home and on the road.

I take my make up off each day using my W7 It’s Magic! Make up remover cloth, using the cloth means I only need water to take my make up off at night and I dont have to take make up wipes everywhere I go. This is also a really eco friendly way of taking your make up off and saves buying packs of wipes all the time.

Once my make up is off, I use Lush’s Ultrabland facial cleanser, made with almond oil, rose water, beeswax and honey the cleanser removes any remaining dirt left over on your skin whilst calming and moisturising the skin at the same time.

After using Ultrabland I usually don’t need to use a moisturiser, but on the days that my skin can feel dry I use a natural coconut oil that I put in a little pot with a few drops of pure tea tree oil. The tea tree oil is also great for problematic skin and mixes in great with a good extra virgin coconut oil.

If my skin feels too oily for the coconut oil, my go to moisturiser has to be Superdrug’s Naturally Radient day cream, infused with Kiwi fruit and Mulberry it not only smells great but is great for evening out skintone.

Little Life Update

I’ve not updated in a while, so I thought I owe you all a little life update from the past 2 months.

Me and my partner have now moved from Chester city centre to a small village just over the boarder back into Wales. We still enjoy the Chester city life but things are a little bit quieter here, which I really like.

My new 2 bedroom apartment overlooks 2 fields, one with sheep in and one with cows (who I have now made friends with and often feed). From my front window you can see the Clwydian Mountain Range, when the sun sets over the rolling hills it is one of the most beautiful sights. There’s a gorgeous bar & restaurant down the road (as photographed) called The Machine House.

I love living here and we’ve set up our own office which hopefully means I can sit down and write a lot more!

Sky Garden, London

Last weekend I went for a short trip down to London for a friends birthday celebration. We went to a bar with some incredible views which I had to share!

Before we went to London we managed to get tickets to the Sky Garden bar which is at the top of the Walkie Talkie building. Tickets are free but can be quite hard to get hold of, luckily for us we had a friend who was glued to their website.

The Walkie Talkie building is based in the Bank/Leddenhall area, it’s literally shaped like a Walkie Talkie so you can’t miss it! You’re allocated a time to go up to the bar and are usually given an hour (we stayed a little over this and no one approached us telling us to leave).

Before you go up on the lift your tickets are scanned and bags checked for security reasons. The lift goes up pretty quickly and when leaving the lift the views are literally breathtaking! You can see all of London and can even see people on the viewing platform of The Shard at London Bridge, (as photographed).

Cocktails at the bar cost around £12 but you can buy beer and cider for £6-£8.

I’d definitely go again if I get the chance! You can follow Sky Garden on Twitter @SG_Skygarden.
